If you want this forum to work, as well as your other forum, you's have to have some awesome advertisement and recruitment scheme. Lefora isn't overly big, so you'd need to figure something out.
any Ideas, if you need adminship I will grant it.

Re: The UN,

What would I change? I would change the UN's will to use force. The horrors of Rowanda and Uganda, and the UN sits on its but and discusses the meaning of genocide. And it says it wants to protect the basic rights of man, and to keep peace in the world, Ha! The UN should be more decisive, and quicker to act, because some countries do need its help. It should help them without having to define words we all know the meanings to, and act!

The United Nations, what would you change in it or about it if you could? Or would you get rid of it completly?
Re: Poll: Do you support the death penalty?,

I know Tyrone's response from Debatable, another forum I recomend for all. Tyrone says it is barbaric, which is not wrong. I think there is a barbaric sense to it, but I also think it is a barbaric act that diserves it. There is the old saying "an eye for an eye" and the old come back "and the whole world goes blind", well neather is wrong. I don't want to give the impression of a blood hungry mindless pesant, because I don't believe that most crimes deserve the death penalty. I think only out of the ordinary crimes should be punished with death. For example, murder is a common crime, I don't think the death penalty is appropriate for this crime. But say the murderer murdered a little girl, after he raped her. I would be pointing out the tree to hang him on. I think crimes like this, that strips the humanity from the perpaerator, deserve to be treated as less than human because they have been proved so. If a dog bites a person (in the US), there is no question that the dog will be put down, and few notice because it is not human. So when a person becomes less than human, he must be treated as so.

Personally I see nothing wrong with continuing NATO, it continues to strenghen our bonds with our allies and unites us against that which we have agreed apon to be wrong.
NATO, what do you think?,

What do you think about NATO, is it still necessary with the fall of the Soviet Union, or is it an unnecessary military alliance that will cause some war? What do you say? What about the joining of former Soviet Union states into NATO, it has caused some tension already, http://www.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/europe/07/04/georgia.ossetia/index.html
Re: US Supream Court decission,

A sad day for the american justice system, when a child-rapist is allowed to live that is. I think it is rediculous that a death is required to allow the death penalty, the supream court is basically saying the old saying, and eye for an eye. This reminds me of pationing for a stop light, in my state at least. In my state (or it may be only a city law) to get a stop light instaled, there needs to be at least 3 DEATHS before the city will consider it, which is rediculous and so is this. What about treason, I know the federal government still reserves the right to exicute without a death, but what is the difference? This seems very unwise to me, I mean that if a man kills another man, it is bad and deserves punishment for taking that man's life, but if you rape a person, especially a young child, you remove all that they hold dear, and can be considered worse than death (especially if it ends up making the victim commit suicide, which is not uncommon). Indeed a sad day for the american justice system.

Re: Poll: What is the biggest threat to the US economy?,
by brigadier
Oil and natural resources threaten the US economy the most, because Oil is the blood of the economy. With $4 gas, shipping costs go up, which means the price of goods goes way up. In the homes, families pay $50-$60 a week (some trucks can be $100 dollars a week), so buying goes down (no one can afford to buy), but companies still make the same amount of goods they use to make, so they are forced to cut jobs...it goes on and on, not to mention the environment.

Do you support it, yes or no? Don't forget to explain your stance on the issue.
